5.08 Blog

I read a article from Espn.com.  With this off season in basketball being on of the most exciting I have ever experienced, I find myself on sporting web sits alot trying
to stay apart of the action.  This off season LeBron James went back to his hometown and team (Cleveland Cavilers) and with that unexpected move he took a few of his old
teammates with him.  In the process of leaving LeBron recruited James Jone a Miami veteran and Mike Miller.  Both Jone and Miller won a championship with LeBron.
Mike Miller came out and said he is excited and ready to let it fly.  James Jones said "Theres no place I'd rather be".
My personal reaction to this is that I don't think that James Jone should have left the Heat so late in his career.  I think he is going about getting another ring the
wrong way.  I also think he is trying to get a bigger role in the offense that he wasn't getting in Miami, that understandable.  I think Mike Miller is just a good player
he has been on a new team two years straight.  So I don't know what going on with him.
I think the author of this article tried to be positive about the trades.  He was quoting Jone and Miller when they said positive stuff about the team and players.
He also made sure to put stuff like the were smiling alot during the interview. This was a Chronological pattern.

I read a article on David Wilson a running back who played for the New York Giants.  David was put on the sidelines after a neck injured at the end of last season.  While in training camp last week he hurt his neck again, but this time it it more serious.  David Wilson went to the doctor to check on his neck injury when he was told he is not advised to play football anymore.  David Wilson was told he has diffuse cervical stenosis, and if he doesn't stop playing football he will open himself up to more neck pains and other health issues. David Wilson is only 23 years old and has only complete two season in the NFL.
When I read this article i put goose bumps all over my body because my brother playing in the NCAA and I could only imagine if something like this happened to him. My heart also went out to David because football was his life and now the one thing he had been doing his whole life he cant do anymore.
I think the  authors intent was to tell a positive story, the reason why I believe that is because the author quoted David in the article; and all the quotes were him saying something positive.  One of the quotes were"“I lived my dream. A lot of people only get to dream their dream. I lived that dream."  Although his football career is over his life is not.  He can bounce back from this tragedy and still be great.  The author is trying to give hope.

I was reading a sports magazine and it was actually very interesting.  With so much going on in the sport world the magazine was very informing.  There was three story that stock out to me the most, the first story was LeBron James signing with the cavaliers again. LeBron had left Cleveland to play in Miami now after 4 long and hard season he leaves and goes back to Cleveland. With some of the sport world mad and the other happy it was interesting to see who side the writer took.  Another story that stuck out was a story on Tiger Woods. Tiger Woods will most likely lose the British open, but will this lose motivate him to play better so he can catch Jack Nicklaus who has the most major titles. The last page of the magazine had  a article about Kevin Humphries, it talked about his newly signed 13 millions dollar contract with the wizards.  The reason  this article stock out to me was because Humphries hasn't been having good season since his so sudden divorce with Kim K. Despite that he still manged to get a big contract.  When reading all these articles was surprised at how the author told the story, in every single article he was up lifting. He didn't speak bad about any of the player but gave reason why they made certain decision, or is playing a certain way.  That's very rare, most sports reports I read are negative, but he showed a different side to the story. That stuck out to me.

I ran across a video game magazine and started reading it.  This magazine just tell you about some games that are about to get released.  One of the games I read about was Far Cry, the story of this video game is that a crew of men are trying to find out who stole there jewelry. So they have to track down the people and somehow get the truth out of them.  Another interesting game I read about was Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes is a kid friendly game that has Disney and  Marvel Super heroes in it. In this game the hero's and Disney  characters are fighting against the evil character of marvel.  One of my favorite games is Sims ,and as I'm reading the magazine I see a article about Sims 4, Sims is a reality game you can have a family, kids, and animals. You can get a job a car a house.  This game to me is  a very helpful game.

Those articles was very informing to me.  It made me interested in some game and made me excited to play some. It let me know when their coming out, the age the game was made for, and the features. After reading this magazine I know I will read it again.
If I had to choose a way to take notes on  those articles it would be outline, with outline I could make the topic the video game and  the points would be the features of the game.  It is probally the best note taking to me.

"01.03 Materials and Free Choice."

From the test results I'm sports is my favorite genre, and my second favorite in fiction.  I think the test was pretty much
right.  I do enjoy reading about sports from stats, to the articles on last nights game. So agree with that. The fiction part
I also agree with, I do enjoy reading book on old gangster, those stories are usually fiction.  So the test was correct.

The last thing i read and enjoyed was an article on the heat losing the finals. I didnt enjoy the fact the lost; but I
did enjoy reading the article.  The article was basically pointing out why the heat lost the game.  It was point the blame
at the team as a whole and not just LeBron.  That why I enjoyed it, I hate when people blame lebron for everything.
